The Wretchwood…

Wretchwood1

In anticipation of my forthcoming release: “WYTCH: Toil and Trouble”, I’ve been trolling through a montage of forest photos and artwork, trying to come up with a concept that fits in with the image I had in mind while writing it.

This is about as close as I could get, but again, it’s just not quite there. The road is overgrown and decaying, yes; however, the trees are not nearly dense enough and there is too much ambient light. I’ll keep looking for something closer, but in the absence, you’re just going to have to use your imagination!

Now that my site is up and running… do you like the design, by the way? I haven’t had much feedback yet, one way or the other.

Where was I? Oh yes… now that my site is up and running, I’m already starting to think the effort I put into it was completely parallel to writing a novel and self-publishing. I mean, suppose you wrote the best story ever written, but as a result of a lack of exposure in the mainstream, no-one ever knew it was there?

Building the website has given me the same problem as writing and publishing my books. Ok… so, my stories may NOT be the best ever written and I doubt this website will ever be classified amongst the more eye-catching or thought provoking; but the problem remains the same – how do I attract people to what I am doing here, or trying to do?

Maybe I just need to go and have a little lie down somewhere – in front of some traffic!

A Ghostly Image…

20160716_153148

In Australia, we’ve only recently started to embrace the celebration of Hallowe’en. Please don’t ask me for an explanation as to why, but I find that time of the year is when I am at my most fertile – creatively speaking, of course!

I spied this and several similar items in an art shop close by home yesterday and suddenly felt compelled to whip out my camera – which for me is most unusual. While talking to the salesperson about it, I made the comment that I could envisage several of these propped in my front garden this year – but it wasn’t until later that someone pointed out the image of me, captured at the same time, was just a bit too weird.

Welcome to my world…
